community and industry conditions:
- BNBATP was formed as a response to both:
- The already disproportionate gap in socioeconomic status of racially marginalized residents that dramatically worsened during the Covid-19 pandemic.
- And the distinct lack of diversity in the field of aviation. Only 2% of commercial pilots are Black and less than 6% are Hispanic.
Our Method:
Learn from our training department with over 100 years of aviation industry experience at the highest levels. Our students learn from industry experts that have successfully created a curriculum that is accessible for those without STEM backgrounds and facilitates diverse student retention.
training department:
Consists of 5 captains and 3 CFI’s, including both wing & rotorcraft experts with over 100 years of industry experience.
Our Chief Flight Training Director is a certified flight instructor and former FAA examiner & safety inspector with over 55 years of experience and over 45,000 hours flown.
impact:
BNBATP has helped more than 100 US residents earn their TRUST certificate (recreational drone pilot certificate).
BNBATP has graduated several FAA 107 cohorts with students successfully earning their Part 107 Ratings (federal license).
history in the making:
BNBATP became the first all minority Aviation Workforce Development Program in the State of MA.
